Attack on the Prime Minister of Malaysia

According to Zulkifli Noordin, Anwar Ibrahim had instructed his MP's and State Representatives to increase their attack on the Prime Minister. Ironically, after that instruction, Malaysia today has started to attack the Prime Minister by publishing a video of PI Bala. In that video Bala stated that he was offered RM 5 Million to retract his SD.

Before that, Malaysia Today had started to attack the wife of our Prime Minister by alleging that she was involved with a guy named "Deepak". RPK talks about being the voice of the rakyat, not PR or BN. But in this move, i see a strategy by PR and RPK to attack the PM simultaneously in order to weaken the PM and bring him down. The questions we all should be asking ourself is : Why are they trying so hard to bring down the PM by personally attacking him?

DSAI knows that the people are beginning to see that the goverment can do a good job and provide ample opportunities for them to prosper. Our PM has also steered the country out of the recession and we are beginning to see signs of recovery. The PM also had authorised Sept 16 as a public holiday, which had become an issue for the opposition previously.

The conclusion i can make from the personal attacks on the PM by DSAI and RPK is because they know that the battle they are fighting is a losing one. They can't say the goverment is not doing a good job, infact the goverment is doing such a good job in administering the country that the opposition has to use personal attacks on our leaders to bring them down.

I hope all UMNO bloggers can counter this baseless allegations and protect the image of our PM and also the country. Oh one more thing, Bala said that he was offered RM 5 million to retract his first SD, well he retracted his first SD alright, so did he took the RM 5 million then?

The 13th General Election-Part 2

What UMNO has to do to win the next General Election - Part 2
5. Enhance spirit of loving the party

UMNO has to start re-educating party members to love the party. Not like PAS who have to do agreements or bai'ah just to ensure that their party members do not quit the party. I do now wish to dwell much into other political parties, but for UMNO re-educating party members is a key essence to instill a sense of ownership of the party. UMNO has to be a party for all members, not for a certain few. By having this, they will work smarter and harder to ensure the victory of UMNO in the next GE.

6. Volunteerism

Based on what the PM had to say during the UMNO General Assembly, UMNO has to start getting down to the community and organize a lot of voluntary work that benefits the people. It doesn't matter if it’s in the opposition constituency, as long it benefits the people it should be carried out. Furthermore, UMNO has a lot of doctors, lawyers and accountants in its rank, these professionals can provide free consultancy/advice to the people. This will greatly benefit the lower income group and in the end it will benefit UMNO as well. It’s a win-win situation for both parties.

7. Consistency

UMNO has to be consistent in its struggle. If it propagates something, it should not change it to suit the crowds. Just like the opposition, promise to the Malay something. Go to the Chinese and promise something else. Therefore UMNO has to be consistent in its ideology. Now the PM has propagate the 1Malaysia concept, therefore all party members have to be on the same wavelength with the PM. This will show that the PM is getting support from his party members. If UMNO does not support the PM, he will look weak in the eyes of the people and this will not be good for UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN).

8. Eliminate Internal Friction

Internal friction between party members can component parties should be eliminated or reduce once for all. The call by a certain UMNO MP for the MCA and Gerakan president to quit their post is uncalled for. This should not be done in public. Perception is always important in the eyes of the people. This is what the opposition had did in the last GE, paint the Government as being corrupt, carry out personnel attacks on leaders , and promise the heaven to the people. Although some of the allegations were baseless, it was able to sway the votes to the opposition nevertheless. Therefore UMNO and BN have to be strong and united to prepare for the onslaught by the opposition in the next GE.

The 13th General Election

What UMNO has to do to win the next General Election - Part 1

1. Candidate

To win the next GE, UMNO has to nominate candidates that are popular with the grassroots. This is important so that there would not be any sabotage of candidates during the election. This has happened before in the 12th GE and hopefully it will not occur again. It shows that a popular leader, supported by his division is the best bet to win any seat that is contested. i.e the victory of Tan Sri Isa Samad in Bagan Pinang.

2. Online Election Machinery

It is just not enough by having posters of leaders around the town and conducting 'ceramah'. UMNO has to be able to mobilize its troops on the streets and also online. It is widely expected that the next GE will be a highly contested election where the battle will not only be on the streets but also online. UMNO has to get its Unit Media Baru (UMB) prepared to counter all allegations that are made by the opposition fast and in a timely manner. Any delays in responding to the opposition allegations would not be good for UMNO because it will be as if we are just finding an excuse for a cover up.

3. Websites and Blogs

As of today, UMNO still has not been able to produce credible blogs that are widely read by the people. Some leaders of UMNO has taken the lead in having their facebook accounts up and running. That is a good start. The next stage is to have blogs that supports the government and propagate the government massages to the masses. Malaysia Today, Malaysian Insider and Malaysiakini are all significant sites that are able to attract a lot of readers. UMNO has to be able to produce this kind of news portal in order to spread its information and attract the younger generation to join the party.

4. Registration of New Members/Voters

With the increasing number of new voters every year. UMNO has to take the lead and start registering its members to be a voter. Every vote counts in the next GE. UMNO must also attract young professionals to its fold so that it can deny the perception that most urban residents/professionals reject the ideology of a race based party like UMNO. As long as UMNO is able to attract new members and register them as new voters, UMNO will be able to increase its voter base in the next GE.

UMNO Cawangan Taman Bukit Seputeh

On the 5th of November 2009, UMNO Taman Bukit Seputeh had successfully recruited several new members to its fold. These new members consist of Engineers, Accountants and Businessmen. This shows that UMNO is still relevant in the new political landscape of the country. People still accept that UMNO is the country strongest political party and it is the only party that could lead the Malays in this country. PAS for now is just a puppet of PKR and DAP.

How are they going to lead the Malays if they can even lead Pakatan Rakyat? It is hope now that most of the Malays in the country would start to realize that UMNO is the only party for them. With the PM propagating a shift in mindset that UMNO has to be a party for the people, it shows that the party leadership is taking note of the last general elections and is working towards being more inclusive to all Malaysians. For those who questions UMNO right to have "Malay" in its name, i say to you shut up and mind your business.

United Malay National Organization (UMNO) is a party for the Malays, but it will include other ethnic groups in the decision making process of the country, not the party! I would like to thank all new members of UMNO Taman Bukit Seputeh for their trust in the party and i hope all of us will be able to work together to ensure UMNO's win in the next general elections.

Oil Royalty to Kelantan

It was announced yesterday by the PM that Kelantan will be receiving oil royalties from the federal government. I think this is a good move by the PM in engaging the people of Kelantan generally and PAS specifically. It has to be remembered that the MB for Kelantan proposed a goverment to goverment cooperation some time back that will improve the wellbeing of the kelantanese population.

The PM has responded to the call by promising Kelantanese of the oil royalty, I hope now there would not be any accusation that the federal goverment is not distributing funds to the PR controlled states. As for the PKFZ fiasco, i hope the MACC and Police take relevant actions against the culprits. It is time for the public to know that the goverment is serious in combating corruption and graft cases in the country.

On another note, i would like to wish goodluck to all Kelantan and N. Sembilan fans for the Malaysia Cup final that will be played this weekend.

The arrest of Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin

Yesterday, the Selangor Religious Department (JAIS) arrested Dr. Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin (MAZA) on grounds of promoting wahhabi doctrine to supporters (The Star, 2/11/2009). I think before people start critizing the federal goverment, they must understand that all islamic and religious matter of a state is under the control of the state goverment, not the federal goverment. Therefore it is irresponsible for the opposition to blame the goverment on the arrest of MAZA.

It is important to note that the Prime Minister and UMNO Youth has came out in condemnation of JAIS for the arrest. PAS Youth has now stated that they would like to meet JAIS on this matter. I am happy to see that UMNO and PAS are on the same wavelength in condemning the arrest of MAZA. This shows that both this parties can work together of issues that are a concern to them. Hopefully UMNO and PAS can work together in various capacities for the betterment of the ummah and Malaysians generally.
